Villeena Villantheran, Psy.D.
– Assessing Clinician

I am an Assessing Clinician at Compass Clinic, providing psychological assessment services for children, adolescents, and young adults under the supervision of a registered psychologist. I hold a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Adler University Vancouver and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from HELP University in Malaysia. I am in the process of registering with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia. Before pursuing my doctoral degree, I worked with youth diagnosed with Specific Learning Disorders in an academic setting. As part of my doctoral degree, I have completed therapy and assessment practicums with Child and Youth Mental Health and Pacific Community Resources Society and a pre-doctoral internship at Adler Community Health Services. I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in a therapeutic and assessment context. Through my doctoral training and clinical work, I have assessment experience with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, and other neurodevelopmental disorders. As an assessor, I approach my clients with warmth, curiosity, and humour when appropriate. I believe that the assessment process can help clients recognize their strengths and areas of improvement to cultivate fulfilling lives.
