Autism Assessment

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) refers to a wide range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. It affects both youth and adults.

ADHD Assessment

Individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) show a persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity that can significantly interfere with their daily functioning and development.

Learning Disability Assessment

This diagnosis is made when a child demonstrates core difficulties in one (or more) of the following three foundational learning areas: reading, mathematics or written expression.

Giftedness Assessment

Giftedness is a term that is used to describe someone with an exceptional ability within a certain domain. We can assess for intellectual giftedness, which refers to an intellectual ability significantly higher than average.

Psychoeducational assessment

Help identify strengths, weaknesses, and alternative learning methods that may provide a better educational experience for children. 

LEAP (Academic) Assessment

This assessment updates the academic portion of testing from the psycho-educational assessment to review school progress and to provide recommendations.

Psychometry

Children with medical, physical and developmental delays often have unique learning issues that can affect their schooling experiences and therapy, reducing quality of life and achievement.

Psychiatry

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. If you're not sure where to start, psychiatry is a good first step.

“Whole Life” Support to Children & Parents

Whole Life support is a developmental life span approach that addresses diagnoses made in childhood (e.g., ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities).

Counselling/Therapy: Overview

We have several Registered Clinical Counsellors and some Registered Psychologists who offer this service to support children, adults, couples and families who are experiencing personal difficulties.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Compass Clinic is proud to offer Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), which is a widely used and well-researched therapeutic approach commonly used to treat a variety of concerns.

Emotion Focused Therapy

Compass Clinic is proud to offer Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), a short term, 8-20 session-long treatment plan that helps clients improve problematic emotional states or interpersonal relationships.

Group Counselling

Group Counseling is a process where a collection of clients with similar issues or concerns meet as a group with one or more therapists to discuss & share information about personal issues.

Career Counselling

Career counseling is designed to help with choosing, changing, or leaving a career. We help (1) identify potential career options & (2) devise a plan to help you reach your career-related goal.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy is one of Compass Clinic’s many services that help you achieve your full potential and independence in daily life. We assist you in both rehabilitation & a gradual return to activity

Speech Therapy

We happily provide an accurate assessment, diagnosis, and effective treatment to improve your quality of life and mitigate the impact of these problems on your day-to-day living.
