I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with thirteen years of experience as a teacher in high school and university classrooms. I have Masters degrees in both Education and in Counselling. In spite of these formal degrees, I think my greatest education has been to learn how to navigate my own personal inner world with kindness and gentleness. I work with adults and adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, difficult life transitions and the varied challenges life tends to present. I also have experience working in addictions therapy, both as a wilderness therapy guide and as a counsellor. My practice draws from many different therapy modalities, though central to my work with clients are mindfulness based approaches, AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and attachment theory. My goal as a therapist is to offer a safe relationship and space for clients to begin to reclaim their confidence, intuition and wisdom from past hurts and trauma, moving towards trust and healing. It is in the safe and trusted interpersonal space between you and your counsellor that you explore what is preventing you from living a life that you choose. I offer in-office counselling sessions, and am available in the evenings. I am registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and the Canadian Association of Clinical Counsellors (CCC).
