Denise Counihan, Psychometrist

As a Psychometrist at Compass Clinic I find joy in discovering the unique characteristics and strengths that each individual holds. Working from a solution-focused stance I aim to create a safe, nurturing, and happy space for children and youth to complete assessments. My passion for assessment was fostered while completing an internship for my Master’s in Counselling Psychology at an assessment centre for children. Here I had the opportunity to work with children and youth presenting with a wide range of emotional, neurological, and academic challenges. I was moved by their tenacious spirits and delightful personalities. After graduating as a Clinical Counsellor, I have spent many years working with children, youth, and adults in a therapeutic and assessment capacity. I have seen that with the right support and a hopeful heart we can all achieve significant and meaningful growth in our lives.
