Mary Morris, Psy.D. – Assessing Clinician
I provide psychological assessments for children, teens, and young adults. I believe the assessment process should feel supportive, respectful, and as positive as possible. My goal is to help families better understand their child’s strengths, needs, and learning or emotional differences.
I use a neurodiversity-affirming approach. This means I believe differences in how people think, learn, and develop are a normal part of human diversity. I complete assessments to help individuals and their families understand areas of strength and weakness and to guide helpful supports, not change who they are. I am always working on being better at explaining results in ways that are easy for kids, families, and teachers to understand.
I have experience working with many neurodevelopmental and mental health concerns, including ADHD, Autism, Intellectual Developmental Disorder, FASD, Specific Learning Disorders, anxiety, OCD, mood disorders, psychosis, post-traumatic stress, and attachment-related challenges. I have worked in schools, hospitals, and community mental health settings. I am committed to helping individuals and families access timely and respectful assessment and care.
I earned my doctorate from Adler University in Vancouver after working in special education in Quebec. During my doctoral training, I completed therapy placements with Child and Youth Mental Health and Encompass Support Services Society, as well as a pre-doctoral internship at the Chilliwack Youth Health Centre. I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.
